Helen T. Slusser, 85, passed on to eternal life on Tuesday, November 17th, 2020 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Il.. Helen was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Chwalczyk. She immigrated to the United States from Poland in 1948 and settled with her family in Shenandoah, Pa. Helen was married to the late Elias Stanley Slusser for 54 years until his passing in 2015. Helen and Stanley settled in Scranton, Pa where they raised their family. In 1993, they relocated to Naperville, Illinois to be closer to their grandchildren.

Prior to raising a family, Helen lived in Washington DC where she worked at the Indian Embassy. She also did freelance work as a runway model. Helen was passionate about helping others and volunteering. She volunteered at Little Friends Resale Shop in Naperville for over 25 years. Through her volunteer work and silent random acts of kindness she touched many lives. She instilled these same values in her children and grandchildren. Helen was very close to her children and developed close friendships with their friends that lasted over time. Family was important to her and she was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Helen enjoyed knitting afghans and giving them out as gifts saying each stitch was a prayer.

Surviving are her son Stanley J. and his wife Colleen Slusser, Naperville, IL, daughter Susan and her husband Rich Rogers, Milton, MA, grandchildren Steven Slusser and his wife Natalie, Kevin Slusser, Abigail Rogers and great-grandson Ethan Slusser, nephews Michael Croslis and Matthew Croslis. In addition to her husband Stanley, she was preceded in death by her sister Jane, brother-in-law Terry Croslis, and nephew Todd Croslis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on December 17th, 2020 at St. Raphael Church in Naperville Il. Burial will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois
