Verna Lee Walker, Sr. Hernando, FL
Verna Lee Walker, Sr. was the first baby to be born in Naples, FL on June 18, 1923. He passed away on January 12, 2013 at the age of 89 in Hernando, FL.
Vern loved hunting and commercial fishing with his sons, brothers and many friends. He also owned a landscaping and construction clean-up business in Naples.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Julia "Judy" Walker; daughter, Gloria (Walker) Maupin; sons, Leroy and Johnny Walker; parents, Roscoe and Lenora Walker; and siblings, Reginald, Lloyd, Alberta "Jean" Cox and Thermon.
Survivors to cherish his memory are sons, Buzz of Dunnellon, FL, Billy of Columbus, OH, Craig "Johnny C." of Hernando, FL; daughter, Jodie (Walker) Nemish; and brothers, Arnold, Bobby and Don Walker. He has 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 4 great-greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Naples Funeral Home, 3107 Davis Boulevard, Naples, FL on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Larry Sims officiating. The Burial will follow at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Avenue North, Naples, FL 34108.
