Charles Thomas Ruppman Naples, FL
Charles Thomas Ruppman, 73, of Genoa, NV passed away Wednes day, January 30, 2013 at his vacation home in Naples, FL from complications of heart disease. Born August 11, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Alvaretta Van Dolman and Charles Sydney Ruppman. Charles has three sisters: Cheryl (Don) Euse-Shricker; Lynne Ruppman; and Carol (Tom) Lund.
He loved being a Chicago south-sider born at 65th and Ashland and remained loyal to the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and White Sox.
Charles spent his professional career in Peoria, IL. He started and built one of the leading outsourcing providers of Telemarketing Services to Fortune 500 companies. He was an entrepreneur where many coworkers realized their financial reward under his leadership. Charles loved to share his good fortune and help others succeed! Honored as the 1993 Master Entrepreneur of the Year for Illinois and Northwest Indiana, presented by Ernst and Young, Merrill Lynch, and Inc. Magazine. Charles was also presented with the Creative Thinking Award by the Creative Thinking Association, in recognition for creativity in management and corporate growth. He was awarded the Yellow Pages Industry's Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. He supported all of the communities he lived in through philanthropic donations. Bettering individual lives and whole communities was extremely important to him. Charles was an avid cyclist and instrumental in the Proctor Cycling Classic events.
He was an accomplished private pilot with over 2500 hours of flight time. He and his father enjoyed flying their planes throughout the US and Canada for business and to hunt and fish. One of the great loves of his life was his T-34 Mentor Navy trainer. He always said having the plane was his most extravagant luxury in life.
He especially loved early morning Pheasant hunts with his sons and his dog. Charles spent time in the Florida Keys and Naples, where he enjoyed sharing time with his parents. They enjoyed golf, boating, fishing, and hunting together. He was a consummate family man. Some of his favorite things were Jazz music, photography, scuba diving, watches and timepieces, playing free cell, and taking naps. He loved being excused from serving mass on weekends when he and his father would go hunting. Charles loved laughter, jokes, and telling stories. Retired to Genoa, NV, he loved the west and loved being an American cowboy; taking pack trips in the wild, camping, fishing, hiking, campfires, and sleeping under the stars.
Charles married Lena M. Hunkeapillar on November 11, 1972 in Peoria, IL. They raised five children: Kimberly J. (Dr. Timothy) Bly, Diane M. Ludy, Kimberly B. (Robert) Haske, Charles W. Charles -- we see you almost daily and speak of you just as much! The one you held so dearly and closely to you looks at you with you fondness and says " there's Charles he in Heaven!" She surely remembers those who loved her with such a big heart and sincere gentle manner. You touched the core of her being and are fondly remembered -- we were blessed with your presence in our lives but you are so richly blessed in His Presence throughout eternity! Enjoy the riches of eternity...we will see you again!

Charles, Its John Harasciuk, We started Dialogue Marketing in 1981 due to your vision and began a revolution now known as the"internet" We started 6 girls in a RMS lunch room,24/7, getting incoming calls from consumers toll free, acquiring data and giving out information based on geographical locations,( zip codes)while collecting and storing that data base.Thats Google at its infancy.Charles never got his credit as a pioneer.I honor his vision and will try to get it recognized.
Thanks Charles, I miss not knowing you are here. Your best friend and partner.

For some reason today, 8-9-14, I thought about Ruppman Marketing and my boss, Charles T. As I went on line to see if I could find out anything about Ruppman Marketing, I discovered that Charles has passed away in January. I was truly shocked and saddened to learn this as I worked for Charles, Jr.,and Sr. for about six years in the 70's. So long ago, but still have great memories of a great boss and a great workplace. My thoughts and prayers to out to Lena and the family. I pray God wraps you all in his loving arms to get you through this difficult time. My memories of Ruppman Mkt. will be with me forever.

Charles, Jr. You were my first teacher in business and I owe you much for the depth and insights that you taught me mostly through your own actions and care. God rest your soul and know that your efforts have reached well over many others lifes and times. Thank you.

I watched my late brother John J. Knowles transformed from a high school dropout turned apprentice printer to production manager turned Vice-President and leadership of components of the successful Ruppman companies. John learned to work hard and play hard from Charles. Charles saw and rewarded potential in his employees, like John. I thank God Charles was there for John, right to the end. They are now united eternally, fishing, boating and joking!

Everything good in my life can be traced back to him. I will live everyday inspired to help people the way that he did. What a blessing to have known him. Sending sincere condolences to the Ruppman family. I, too, spent many years as a Ruppman employee and will always be grateful for the wonderful opportunities that Charles provided to us. With every year that passes, I realize more and more how much I learned from both Charles and my fellow employees. I will always treasure my “Ruppman years” and he and his father made it all possible. Many thanks to the Ruppman family; and I hope you find some comfort in knowing how many lives he touched in such a positive way. May he rest in peace.

When I heard of Charles' passing. The first 2 words that came to my mind were generous and funny. Charles would give those he loved and sometimes even those he didn't, the shirt off of his back. He taught me how to hunt and fish, which are now 2 of my favorite hobbies. As my Father-in-Law he always took me along for the ride and what a ride it was. He told the funniest true life stories that I ever heard. I was blessed to have him as a part of my life. Thank you all so much for your condolences and memories. God Love You, Charles.

Charles certainly believed in promoting from within based on merit...not something a company that large does too often. And he'd be proud of all the people who used to work at Ruppman and how far they've advanced in their careers, in no small part due to the fact that he gave them a shot at leadership--and they proved him right! Rest in peace, CTR.

As everyone has expressed here, Charles will be greatly missed. I had the opportunity to work for him also and he challenged, encouraged and supported everyone in their journey to be the best individual and business person they could be. I was blessed to learn from the best through training and business opportunities he provided throughout my employment. I also had the opportunity to get to know Lena, and I offer you and your family my most heartfelt condolences on your loss. I was privileged to work for Charles and will be forever grateful all he did to help make me the person I am today. May God be with you all during this difficult time.

Our family is indebted to Charles. His compassion and affection for my father, John Knowles, and our family was truly significant. I have many cherished memories of vacations and social gatherings with the Ruppman family. Charles entertained us with his great stories around the campfire and loved to show me his amazing match trick. I never figured out how he magically lit the matchstick. We are grateful and blessed to have known him. It is a profound loss to many. Our hearts and prayers are with the Ruppman family during this time of grief. My mother, Sharon Kowalske, sends her condolences as well.

I have many wonderful memories of Charles as my friend and brother-in-law, and he was a loving uncle and mentor to my children. But the story I'd like to share is one of Charles 'the company owner'. Years ago after my sister-in-law, Paula Bohanan, finished taking a few computer courses, she got a job at Ruppman Marketing in the data entry department. At one of our family gatherings, I casually mentioned to Charles that Paula was working for him. Not long after that, Charles took the time out of his day to go and introduce himself to her and wish her well on her job. Paula was very young and literally fresh off the farm, and she was thrilled when she told me what he did. He made a lasting impression on her. Paula has since, herself, gone on to heaven. There's thousands of stories like this and many more of how truly interested Charles was in people. My sister married a good man--they were a great team. We miss Charles and will for a very long time.

Charles lived with a passion for family, friends, work and life. His positive impact on my life and that of my family is considerable. My father, John Knowles, worked many years with Charles, and they were close friends. My sisters and I also worked for Ruppman - a business that Charles built and led with all his heart, talent, and soul. We are blessed to have known him. I have wonderful memories of vacations with the Ruppman family in Lake of the Ozarks. Charles told amazing, truly funny stories and made great whipped cream from scratch! One fond memory of Charles is when he paid respects at my father's visitation. The tender, loving emotion that Charles showed my family and my father touched me and all others present to witness the moment. It warms my heart to know that Charles and Dad are reunited and sharing new stories and adventures. May God comfort his family.

I am in the technology business and Charles was my client during late 80's. I learned so much from him and had more fun trying to keep up with him as we tried to change the the marketing industry and tried to change the consumer electronics repair business. I think about those days often.
Please accept the condolences of the Hansen Family.
