Robert Burns Patterson Naples, FL Lancaster, PA
Robert Burns Patterson, 85, of Naples, FL, (who recently moved to Lancas ter, PA with his daughter, sonin-law and grandchildren), passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Santa Fe, NM, he was the son of the late Howard Ashman Patterson and Elizabeth Perrigo.
Burns was a devoted husband to his late wife, Barbara 'Bobbie' E. (Bowman) Patterson with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Burns served in the United States Marines Corps at Pearl Harbor. He was an executive producer for television commercials in New York City for over 40 years. Burns was a member of the Ardsley Curling Club of Hudson, NY and of St. John's Episcopal Church of Florida. He enjoyed the Metropolitan Opera and was an avid golfer and painter. He will be missed for his sense of humor and warm, giving heart.
Burns was a dedicated father to his five children: Dineen Patterson (deceased), David Burns Patterson, husband of Denise, of West Orange, NJ, Michael Remington Patterson, husband of Jessyka, of Roxybury, CT, Tricia Hughes, wife of Jeff, of Pasadena, MD and Barrie McKernan, wife of Peter, of Lancaster, PA. He was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren: Megan and Devin Hughes, and Melissa and Peter Burns McKernan. He is survived by his brother, Remington Perrigo Patterson of New York City, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with Rev. Joe Maiocco officiating. Family and friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Burns' name to St. John's Episcopal Church, 500 Park Shore Drive, Naples, FL 34103.

I knew Mr. Burns for a number of years from a dental practice. What a happy smiling cheerful man he was. We all so enjoyed his visits to the office as much as he liked sharing little stories of his great life with us. To his family may his kindness always feel your heart with great memories of one great man!
