Ernest Phillip Goff Obituary
Ernest Phillip Goff

Everglades City, FL

Ernest Phillip Goff, 75, pulled up Earth's anchor May 11, 2018.

A proud, talented, lifelong Commercial Fisherman, he enjoyed his life fully and liked to say, "I led three lives and I enjoyed every one of them." A net fisherman in the Gulf of Mexico over 60 years from Florida Bay around to the Louisiana bayous, he was dubbed "Pompano King" and was looked up to by generations of fisherman. Outgoing, charismatic, and adventuresome, he is a legend of an era and a disappearing way of life to be long remembered and talked about. Not one to hide his light under a bushel (no pun intended), he would have it no other way.

He is survived by wife of 57 years, Joe Ann; sons Jeff, Tommy and Loren; grandchildren Cole, Amber, Dylan and Gabrielle; great grandson Nolan and many relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by parents Ernest Goff and Golden Daniels Goff Smallwood, brother Gene, sister Ernestine, and his beloved daughter Toni Ann.

There will be a remembrance celebration at the park in Everglades City, FL, June 2 at 1:00pm. Casual attire please. All are welcome.

Thank you so much to great friend, Dennis Noble and family and many others for giving this commemoration get-together in honor of Phillip.
