Helen Zumbrun Obituary
Helen Zumbrun

Naples, FL

Helen Faye Lippiatt Zumbrun, 92, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Naples, FL. She is survived by her three daughters, Connie (Jim) Cappelli; Wendy Zumbrun (Harold) Moyer; and Amy (Adren) Hance; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Born in Shamokin, PA, on March 17, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Kessler) Lippiatt, she was the youngest of seven children. She

graduated from William Penn High School in York, PA and attended American University in Washington D. C. where she met her handsome navy man, Bill and married him at age 20. Their love story would continue for 68 years until Bill died in 2014. After their marriage, the couple moved to Ohio, eventually residing in Toledo. During this time Helen was a full time mother to her 3 girls. She was active in Monroe Street

Methodist Church and The Dramatic Readers. In 1960 she won the title of Mrs. Toledo by cooking a tasty meal and charming the judges with her sparkling personality and beauty. Helen eventually returned to college at the

University of Toledo earning her Bachelor of Education degree in 1971. Helen and Bill moved to Naples in 1977 where she enjoyed teaching Language Arts at Pine Ridge Middle School. After retiring in 1987, she worked for a short time at the Enchanted Tiki Room in Disney World, which she found delightful. From 1995 - 2001 she was the announcer for the Naples Concert Band. Audiences loved hearing her witty dialogue and vivacious delivery. She certainly livened up the performances. In their retirement Helen and Bill

traveled to all 50 states, Canada and Mexico in their airstream trailer. Helen will be remembered for her beauty, both inside and out, her positive and exuberant outlook on life and her

kindness to all people. A chapel service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery where she will be buried with her beloved Bill. For online condolences visit www.FullerNaples.com
