Keith V. Swanson

Bonita Springs - Keith Verdun Swanson, 94, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2021.

Keith was born on December 28, 1926, in Bradford, PA to the late Carl E. and Bernice E. (Foster) Swanson. Keith was happily married to Audrey Lois (Tompsett) Swanson for 54 years, until she passed away in 2003. Keith and Audrey retired to Bonita Springs in the early 1980's. They had two sons. Keith enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling with family members and friends.

Keith grew up in Bradford, enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and served as a flight navigator. After completing his service, Keith returned to Bradford and worked as a carpenter in his father's business, Carl E. Swanson & Sons Construction. Keith and his younger brother Jack took over the general contracting business when their father retired. They operated a successful and highly respected business for many years before turning the company over to their sons.

Keith was predeceased by his two brothers, Jack A. Swanson and wife Dovila E. (Norton) Swanson; and Peter D. Swanson and wife Molly A. (Morgan) Swanson.

Keith is survived by two sons, Jeffrey W. Swanson and wife Gina Riley of Bonita Springs; and Steven D. Swanson and wife Patricia (Harwelik) Swanson of Naples; two grandchildren, Brian M. Swanson and wife Lauren (Cooper) Swanson of Austin, TX; and Lauren A. Swanson of Naples. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces.

Keith will always be remembered for his kindness, patience and generosity.

Private family services and entombment were held at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021. Memorials in Keith's honor can be made to Vitas Community Connection, Collier County, FL or a charity of the donor's choosing.
