A Celebration of Life for Richard Baldwin von Maur, Jr. will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 4-6pm at the Hole-in-the-Wall Golf Club, 3600 Goodlette Road North, Naples, Florida.

Richard died on October 13, 2018 in Davenport, Iowa, at the age of 86.

He was united in marriage to Susan Arp in 1958 in Moline, Illinois. They celebrated their 60th wedding

anniversary this past June.

Richard served as Co-Chairman of Von Maur, Inc. He Joined the company in 1957 and, along with his brother, Charles, grew a single department store in downtown Davenport, Iowa into one of America's leading department store chains. He often said the company's most valuable asset is its

associates, and he thought of them as family.

He enjoyed playing golf with family and friends at the Hole-in-the-Wall Golf Club, where he served as President (2004-2005.)

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, sense of humor, magic tricks and his dedication to family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Susan; daughters Robin (Lee) Staak and Susan (Holly) Grimm; sons Richard III (Doreen) and James (Melissa); brother Charles (Nancy) and a sister, Alice McDonald. He was "Ga" to his eleven grandchildren; Allison (Cody) Kriegel, John (Betsy Barry) Staak, Bennett, Melanie (Dave Ronning) and

Catherine Grimm, Justice, Elizabeth and Richard IV von Maur, J.D., Ana and Otto von Maur, Great Grandchild

Vivienne Kriegel, and many nieces, nephews, and family friends who had the privilege of calling him "Uncle Dick".
