Scott Arnold Obituary
Bonita Springs - Scott B. Arnold, 94, passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2021 after a long, happy and successful life.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 27, 1926, he was a son of the late George Bowen and Doris Bradbury Arnold.
Scott is survived by his wife of 61 years, Cynthia; sons, Bowen and wife Susan, Brad and wife Cynthia and Bruce and wife Anne. He is also survived by four grandchildren Nicholas, Christopher, Ev and Justin and four great-granddaughters Scarlett, Gwen, Christina and Alexandra.
Scott was a veteran of the US Army, proudly serving in WWII. Earning a degree in Architecture from the University of Florida in 1950, he was a registered architect in 49 of the 50 states. He designed the first freestanding Burger King in Miami in 1955. Owner of his own architectural firm in Miami for 43 years, he designed many churches, schools and restaurants as well as homes throughout the Miami area. He designed several additions to the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs and designed the Cafe of Life in Bonita Springs.
As a boy Scott traveled to Asia with his parents and brother Bob, living in China and India where his father manufactured airplanes for the Chinese government with The InterContinent Corporation. He had wonderful memories of his journeys and living in China, enjoying the chance to share stories with family and friends.
Scott moved to Bonita Springs to retire in 1995. He was an avid golfer and an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. He was also a member of the Hunter's Ridge Country Club, Sigma Chi fraternity and on the Board of Directors for the Cafe of Life in Bonita Springs.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, the Cafe of Life in Bonita Springs or Hope Hospice of Bonita Springs.
Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home and Crematory, Family Owned and Operated since 1978.
