The world was a brighter place with Bill Wendling in it! I will remember your beautiful smile, can still hear that laugh after all these years and those Converse tennis shoes?! You and I were both blessed to have Adam and Dustin in our lives...what fine young men they are. They always have and always will smile when they talk about their "Uncle Bill". I am grateful for the joy the three of you shared. We will keep telling the stories and sharing the memories!

I just got the news from Skinny Dave that Billy had passed, as well as Skinny's wife. I was so glad to know Billy, and was so happy that he invited me to do my comedy act at his party at the house a few years ago.
Will never forget him,

Ding Ding! I hadn't seen you in 35 years, yet you invite me to your home and welcome me in like it was 35 minutes ago. A true Brother of ATO in the purest sense. Your positive effect on people might have been subtle in many respects, but I always felt the better after seeing you and for being one of the many friends you have. Love and Respect ... Dobie

The light in those blaze blue eyes can never be extinguished...just passed on, as you did with your passion for the gym and the joyous activities you always knew how to get us to Love. Grant, Andy, and I started something that the Good Doc is still at, but it always began with the joy of that first set - the 'show-ups' - that you encouraged so enthusiastically. Here's to the Spirit you ALLways channelled...You will continue to guide our embrace of physical activity as a means to unlock our soul's expansion. Thank you for being YOU so authentically.
Big LOVE, Billy Wendling, Big LOVE!

I met Bill four years ago when I joined the club during my annual "snow bird" visit. As I was fumbling around with the machines, he approached, introduced himself and spent about 1/2 hour walking me through how to use each one. He later got me to use additional stations like the chin up machine which I wouldn't have tried on my own and as a long time weight lifter gave me suggestions to safely improve my strength and flexability.
He was very proud of the strength machines which he said he had personally selected.
Then each January he would come up and greet me when I returned. He was such a easy going and genuine person that you immediately felt you were reuniting with a long-time friend.
The turnout at the Cove and the number of entries in his guest book show the amazing number of people whose lives he touched.I will truly miss seeing him as he passed through the club and stopped to chat with his many friends like me.

Billy,
I have few words to express my deep sadness of losing you. What a character! You were an inspiration to all of us and the reason the majority of us have a place to call home, in addition to all the lives you helped us touch throughout the years. I will keep working on the projects you started and I promise to continue the legacy you built. I am forever indebted to you. Enjoy the good life Bill - until we meet again.

March 24, 2013...Rest in peace, my very good friend. The world just got a little less fun without you. From you posing as an orthopedic surgeon, horrifying each other in Tampa and Key West, crewing the "Pyrite", sipping suds at all the dive bars, hanging in Colorado you sure made it a whole lot of fun. A good guy, humorous, sly and a provocateur extraordinaire, I'll be missing ya, "Big Arms" Billy...Dan Demory, Iowa City, Iowa.

To Billy and his family - we feel such sorrow at your passing - you always had a smile and warm comment upon entering Wellness. We would often see you at Jimmy P's on Thursdays - loved talking with you! You were one of the most sincere person we had met....you left us too soon - our thoughts and prayers with your family and Debra. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves memories no one can steal. Rest well our friend - see you again one day.
