Maxine Parsons Obituary

Maxine Parsons

Naples, FL

Maxine Hedwig Parsons, 82, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Hope Hospice (Bonita Springs) on September 15, 2018. She was born December 8, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from the Western Pennsylvania School of Nursing in 1958 as a Registered Nurse. She practiced nursing for many decades, first in the Pittsburgh area, then locally in Naples after moving to Florida with her children in 1974. Post retirement, one of her most memorable work experiences was as a repeat summer nurse at her beloved Buck's Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp in Connecticut where she indulged her love for children, music, art and theater while establishing lasting friendships from around the country and world.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers' Ronald and Clyde Donaldson. She was a devoted and loving mother of 6, but "Mom" to many others over her lifetime. She cherished her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she often shared her love of learning.

She will forever be loved and missed by her family who would like to express sincere appreciation to the compassionate staff of the Naples Hope PACE program and Hope Hospice – Joanne's House in Bonita Springs for the wonderful care and support.

Hello dear friends
Four nurses from Bucks rock are now gathering in Norwich England. We miss our 5th nurse from 1996. If any family is reading this, please know that we miss Maxine. She was a great nurse. She taught us how to nurse at the summer camp. She sent me a cookbook for my wedding in 2001, and reference it many times. Jeannie from England visited her years ago in Naples.
Would love to converse with any family reading this

Please accept my dearest and heartfelt sympathy; I am so sorry for your loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain your family during this challenging time. Isaiah 61:1, 2
