"The Professor", Donald Drew Zimmerman, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Pitman, N.J..
Born December 30, 1931 in Hornell, NY to Earl and Mary Zimmerman, Donald was a retired Professor of Elementary Education from Glassboro State College (Rowan), Glassboro, N.J.
Additionally, Donald was known for his love of music and enjoyed performing locally with various groups on his trumpet. In his retirement, Donald operated Prof's Antiques and was well-respected for his knowledge and love of fine-antiques, clocks and stained-glass. Donald and his family enjoyed many summers on Lake Wallenpaupack at their homes, first at Sandy Shores and then their lakefront home in Briar Hill, Lakeville, Pa.
Donald is survived by his wife Cleo (nee Beeman), daughters Laura DeMarco, Beth (James) Martin and Lisa (Thomas) Fisher. He adored his seven grandchildren; Shawn and Tyler Demarco; Drew, Colin and Whitney (Josh Gooch) Martin, Alan and Julia Fisher.
A service celebrating his life will be March 9th, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Pitman NJ 08071. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Don's memory to the First Presbyterian Church Building fund. Please go to https://kelleyfhpitman.com/.

I still hear the sound of his beautiful voice and the music of his trumpet. He has a special place in my heart and will not be forgotten. He was a faithful friend.
