Glen Arthur Brown
Glen Arthur Brown passed away at home on Sunday, April 11, 2021 with his family at his side. Glen was born May 6, 1932, in Cambridge, Iowa.
Glen graduated from Milford High School in Nevada, Iowa. He married Lois Larson on June 10, 1950, in Princeton, Missouri. He retired from Anderson Erickson Dairy after 31 years. Following his retirement from the dairy, Glen returned to farming. Glen's many activities included bowling, playing cards, golfing and square dancing with the Ames Cross Trailers, Nevada Whirlers and Gilbert Triple G. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Cecilia Church. In recent years, he and Lois enjoyed vacationing in Lakeland, Florida. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities.
Glen is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lois Anne (Larson) Brown, 3 daughters, Ginger (Carl) Heaberlin of Lakeland, Florida, Susan (Virgil) Fowles of Ames, Iowa and Marcia (Bob) Henderson of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren, Stephany Heaberlin Seekins, Joshua Heaberlin, Bart Fowles, Chad Fowles and Becky Brown, along with 11 great-grandchildren.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mabel (Hainline) Brown, infant sister, Ethel and several aunts and uncles.
There will be a visitation 4:00pm-6:00pm Thursday, April 15, at Grandon Funeral Home, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa. His funeral service will take place 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 16, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Ave, Ames, IA 50010. Burial will take place at Ames Municipal Cemetery. Masks are required and social distancing when possible.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Cecilia Catholic Church or St. Croix Hospice of Ankeny, Iowa.
