WILLIAM OLIVER Obituary

William D. Oliver, 85, of Lemon Township, passed away June 15, 2020, at his home.

Born in Meshoppen on Aug. 10, 1934, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Belle Grow Oliver.

He was a 1952 graduate of Springville High School and a 1956 graduate of Penn State's Agricultural Department. Willie served his country in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Penelec Electrical.

Willie was a member of Nativity BVM Church, Moose Lodge, Tunkhannock, American Legion Post 510 and was a proud retired active member of Triton Hose Company, Tunkhannock.

He is survived by several cousins and good friend, Michael DiStadio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Oliver in 1973.

Family and friends are invited to attend Willie's Mass of Christian Burial, which will be held on Friday, June 19 at 10 a.m. from the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 to be celebrated by Reverend Patrick Albert, pastor. Interment will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Meshoppen with full military honors.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, restrictions have been put in place by the CDC and the PA Department of Health. Please read the following.

At the funeral home: We will be limiting the number of guests to 40 people at a time.

At church: We will be limiting the number of guests to 50 people. Please use your discretion.

Those of you who may wish to attend Willies's funeral service but are unable to can join the family online for a livestreamed service at 10 a.m. on Friday at www.sheldonkukuchkafuneralhome.com under William D. Oliver's tribute page.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Willie's name to Triton Hose Company, 116 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
