CHARLES COBB Obituary

Charles (Charlie) Ronald Cobb Sr., a lifelong resident of Nicholson, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020.

Charlie was born Feb 7, 1933, in Nicholson and was the son of the late Holly and Florence Irene Lord Cobb.

He was a graduate of Nicholson High School and worked at Lackawanna Trail High School as a custodian for 43 years and 35 years at the Nicholson Post Office. Charlie was also a lifelong member of the Nicholson United Methodist Church. Many remember Charlie as someone who brought a positive attitude to anything he was doing. He was noted to always having a smile, a hello and a quick wit to bring a smile. You could always count on a good story from Charlie. Fortunately, his mind was sharp all the way to the end of his loving life.

Charlie was a gentleman farmer all his life. During the summer you could always find him working outside in his garden or fields. Once he could not get around like he used to, he would be hoeing on his knees and riding his Kubota tracker otherwise known as his wheelchair. He kept his social routine up to the end with his egg sales customers.

Charlie is survived by a son Ronald Cobb of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; daughter Susan Dickinson and husband Rob of Columbus, Ind.; daughter Florence Jenkins and husband Mark of Dallas, Ga.; Charles Cobb Jr. and wife Irene of Nicholson; son Clayton Cobb of Nicholson; nine grandchildren; and 11-plus great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Hazel White Cobb; and son Daniel Cobb.

A viewing will be held Monday, Sept. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State Street, Nicholson.

State of Pennsylvania and CDC COVID guidelines will be followed and masks are required.

A public graveside service will be held at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the Nicholson Cemetery with services by Pastor John Shaffer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nicholson United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 151, Nicholson, PA 18446

Online condolences may be left on the funeral home website.
