1949 - 2020

Loren George Alden passed away on Oct. 2, 2020.

Loren was born on March 21, 1949, the son of the late Loren and Gladys Pratt Alden of Nicholson.

Loren graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School class of 1967. He continued his education at Johnson School of Technology before embarking on a 31-year career at Procter & Gamble, Mehoopany.

He retired in 1997 and for many years enjoyed dividing his time between Nicholson and Cape Canaveral, Fla. For the last several years he has resided in Factoryville.

Throughout his life, Loren enjoyed hunting, landscaping, and collecting antiques.

He was a member of the American Legion in Nicholson and the VFW in Lenox, Moose Lodge 1276 in Tunkhannock, and the Community Bible Church in Tunkhannock.

Loren is survived by two sons: Timothy Manzer of Scranton, and Timothy Alden of Dalton; three brothers: William Pratt (Marti) of Tunkhannock, Donald Pratt (JoAnn) of Nicholson, and Robert Pratt of Minoa, N.Y.; one sister Ann Johnson (Glenn) of Maryville, Tenn.; and his cousin George Alden (Micki) of Tunkhannock. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister Doris Bauer Hayes (Jerry).

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Lauren Nicholls and the entire ICU team at Geisinger CMC in Scranton for its compassionate care.

Funeral arrangements are through the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St., Nicholson.

Due to COVID-19, there will not be any visiting hours.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, Nov. 7, in the Nicholson Cemetery officiated by Pastor David Stuckey at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Loren may be made to the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation, 5954 SR 6, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
