Ted R. Cobb, age 60, of Laceyville, passed away on Monday afternoon, Dec. 21, 2020, at the Abington Manor in Clarks Summit, where he had been a resident for the last couple of months. Ted was born in Meshoppen, on July 28, 1960, the twin son of the late Robert "Bud" P. Cobb Sr., who passed away on Oct. 1, 2001, and the late Marguerite "Peg" H. Williams Cobb, who passed away on Oct. 16, 2017. Ted was the first baby ever delivered by Dr. Karl Peterson, of Wyalusing, the very first of thousands of babies that were delivered by Doc Pete. After graduating from Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 1979, he began working as a truck driver for Wells Mills in Wyalusing, until a fire ended the feed business there. Ted then took a job at Whipple's Lumber and remained there until his retirement. In his youth, Ted enjoyed playing little league baseball and high school football. Later in life, he continued his love of little league baseball by attending the annual Little League World Series in Williamsport. Ted also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his good friend, Everell Fisk and cherished being surrounded by his many friends most of all. Ted is survived by his son, Ted R. Cobb of Indiana, and a grandson; also brothers: Robert "Buddy" P. Cobb of Towanda and Terry A. Cobb (Terry) of Wyalusing; step-brothers: Robert D. Wiggins (Patsy) of Johnson City, Tenn. and C. David Wiggins (Nancy Parsons) of Sayre; and step-sister, Joanne M. Adams (Burton) of Colley; as well as many nieces and nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank Ted's best friend, Bill Clark, the Laceyville Postmaster for all of the countless hours of devotion and friendship that was shown to their brother. Memorial services for Ted will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. Interment will also be held on a later date at the Wyalusing Borough Cemetery. Arrangements were made at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 465 Main St., Laceyville. Online condolences may be made at www.SheldonFuneralHomes.com.
