GARY JUNE Obituary

Gary E. June, 72, of Nicholson, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at Regional Hospital in Scranton.

He was born in Meshoppen on August 11, 1948, and was the son of the late Henry and Mary Collins June. He is a 1966 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School and a graduate of Bloomsburg University.

Gary worked at Procter & Gamble for 20 years. After retirement, he worked at the Moose Lodge 1276, Tunkhannock. He loved all sports, including the N.Y. Yankees, N.Y. Giants and Boston Celtics. In his younger days, he played in local baseball and softball leagues in the Tunkhannock area. He enjoyed playing golf with his son and daughter. He took pride watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

He is preceded in death by three sisters: Elizabeth June, 2015, Shirley Honeywell, 2016, and Marilyn Chamberlin, 2019.

Surviving are a son, Mark June of Nicholson; daughter, Megan Walker and husband Matthew of Tunkhannock; three grandchildren: Gavin and Grady June, and Madison Walker; sister, Linda June Traver and husband Robert of Monroe Township; two brothers: Elwood June and wife Kim of Glen Burnie, Md., Timothy June and partner Barbara King of Exton; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private funeral service at Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, with Pastor Stephen Baker officiating. For those unable to attend the funeral it will be streamed live on the funeral home's Facebook page www.facebook.com/litwin.home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 4-7 p.m. following COVID-19 guidelines. Interment will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Tunkhannock.
