She grew up in Harford County, Md., and was a nursing home administrator in the Baltimore area for 28 years, retiring in July 1998 to join her husband at Lake Winola.

In addition, Lucy was the loving aunt of four nieces and five nephews along with eight great nieces and four great nephews.

Lucy was a faithful member of Lake Winola United Methodist Church and an active participant in many church activities including quilting and coordinating church luncheons. She was an avid Baltimore sports fan, known to host a Maryland steamed crab feast at a moment's notice.

She loved to play cards (Pinochle was her game), read and visit with her friends and family, often on her dock overlooking the lake. She loved all the dogs around the lake and kept treats on hand to feed them whenever they stopped by for a visit (which was often).
