Rosalie G. Beck
NEWARK: A Funeral Mass for Rosalie G. Beck, 83, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 22, 2012, with Reverend JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Rosalie, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at the Sharonbrooke Senior Living Center on Thursday, December 20, 2012. She was born in Cumberland, MD on July 4, 1929 to the late John Richard and Elsie Irene (Dermer) Greise.
Rosalie worked for many years as a baker at Ghiloni's Market and was also an in-home child care provider. She was a Girl Scout Leader for St. Francis School as well as a 4-H leader. One of Rose's greatest passions was sewing and quilting. She taught many people, young and old to sew and quilt. She was a founding member of the Heart of Ohio Quilters Guild and served in many capacities. Rose was the chairperson for ABC Quilts for Kids and she sewed and donated hundreds of quilts to hospitalized children. She traveled far and wide going to quilt shows and fabric shops all over the country.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Renie and Rick Morin of Newark, Janet and George Barr of Hudson, Ohio, and Richard and Rita Beck of Granville; her grandchildren, James (Christy) Bunn, Jason (Tara) Bunn, Lindsay Beck, Katalin Beck, and Jillian (Matt) Krein; her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jenna Bunn, and Mali Wahl; her brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Valerie Greise of Cumberland, MD; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanora and Jeff Shobe of Winchester, VA, Vera and Conrad Yost, Agnes and Perry Edmiston, all of Cumberland, MD; many nieces and nephews; and her dedicated caregiver and nurse, Gigi Strate.
In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard James Beck in 2008; her sisters, Teresa Edmiston, Catherine Shobe, and Regina Lechliter; and her brothers, Thomas, J. Richard and Edward Greise.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M., Friday, December 21, 2012 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 8:30 P.M.
The family requests that memorials be made to Heartland Hospice, 1507 West Main Street, Newark, OH 43055.

So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. "Old neighborhood" memories of your mom pleasantly come to mind ..rides to school..Girl Scouts...rides to school...sewing tips...and best of all..YOUR Mother taught me how to fold sheets better than anyone in my family. A very sweet lady.

Rose was a great woman. She always knew how to put a smile on my face. We shared many good laughs too. Rose meant a lot to me & I will miss her so much. May God bless Rose's family and be with them in this tough and difficult time. She will be missed by many!
