Hilda L. "June" Bush
NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Hilda L. "June" Bush, 89, of Newark, will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 15, 2013 at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 9:00 A.M. at Green Hill Cemetery in Johnstown.
Hilda passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home surrounded by family. She was born August 2, 1923 in Lawrence County, KY to the late Bill and Elizabeth (Smith) Williams.
Growing up in Kentucky, June worked hard on the family farm and developed a love of gardening. She was an excellent cook and was known for her canning, one of her specialties being pickled peaches.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Rose and George Hills, Jr. of Newark; grandchildren; Michael Bush, George Hills, III, Anthony Warren, Alyssa (Bill) Streller, Jamie (Allan) Gibson, Amber (Andy) Brenner, and Ashley Warren; great-grandchildren; Jacob, Anthony, Jarrod, Sarah, Sierra, Camren, Aiden, Tiffany, Brandon, Priscilla, and another soon to arrive.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her son, James Wade Bush, who died October 18, 2010.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
