Beryl David "Dave" Wheeler
NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Beryl David "Dave" Wheeler, age 60, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Lisa Willey of Community Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Dave passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 17, 1953 in Newark to the late Beryl H. and Joann (Moore) Wheeler.
Dave was a 1972 graduate of Newark High school. During his life he worked for the Licking County Highway Dept, police officer for Granville and Buckeye Lake, and a General Manager for many restaurants the last one being Taco Bell. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his five children, Brad Wheeler of Heath, Carissa Wheeler of Heath, Heather Wheeler of Newark, Daniel Wheeler of Newark and Jordan and Brooke Wheeler of Newark; four grandchildren, Michael Barton, Mackenzie and Charlie Wheeler and Ava Wheeler; special friends, Max and Connie Rentz and Barry Baccus; and his beloved dogs, Jojo Ann and Charlie Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Daniel "Danny" Wheeler; a cousin, Raymond Douglas Gregg; and an aunt, Dorothy "Dot" M. Gregg.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, December 23, at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses of Hospice of Central Ohio as well as the staff from Autumn, specifically, Ken, Tammey, Kim, Kelli, Pam M., Cody, Kyleigh and Sue.
