Mary S. Brown
NAPLES, FL: Mary S. Brown, 96, of Naples, Florida passed away November 13, 2012 at Naples Avow Hospice. She will always be remembered as a kind, witty, and
independent woman who loved entertaining, decorating, driving her convertible, and having her evening scotch.
Mary was born Mary E. Schaus, May 23,1916 in Jacksontown, Ohio. She was very proud of the fact she modeled in Ohio, California, and Florida and was able to do so for more than 35 years! Beginning in her teen years, she developed a strong interest in interior design and fashion and was able to further those interests in Naples as store manager for DorLin's, Jami's, Casual Corner, and Gingerbread & Old Lace. Mary loved and collected antiques, and enjoyed having a booth at Homer's Antique Mall, up until her death. Mary was very athletic, and played golf in the Championship Flight at Moundbuilder's Country Club in Newark, Ohio. Mary was also a proud member of the Fuchsia Chapter of the Eastern Star, and The Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church in Naples, Florida.
Mary is preceded in death by her three husbands, Carlos Buckey, George Beatty, and Richard Brown; as well as her two brothers, George Lee Schaus and Fred A. Schaus.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Linda Weidner (Larry) of Naples, Florida and John Buckey (Janna) of Dublin, Ohio. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Lesley Summerour, Scott Weidner, Erin Ownby, Audra Bordine, and Devon Buckey. Mary also has 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Schaus of Morgantown, West Virginia; and two nephews.
The family wishes to thank those who were so kind and caring at Harbor Chase of Naples, North Naples Community Hospital, Physician's Regional, and Avow Hospice of Naples. Donations in her memory may be made to Avow Hospice of Naples.

Linda,
So sorry to hear about your Mother's passing. I've known her since we were nine; and I'll always remember her in the red and white Pontiac convertible after your family got rid of the Hudson, as well as fantastic collection of antique salt cellars and the tea leaf dishes.
I remember the last time I saw her when we went over to the store where she was working so she could see me and my girls.
May God be with you, Larry, and your family in your time of sorrow.

Mary an inspiration! She showed us that you can grow old beautifully and graciously. I marveled and often told others about your amazing Mother. I recall such a short time ago Larry helping Mary put the top down on her new convertible. How happy and lovely she looked driving that new car! Beautiful, gracious, young at heart and mind throughout her whole life. She lived, loved, laughed, entertained, and remained a blessing to others for 96 years! She lived life to the fullest and never saw her years as a handicap. Mary shall be missed and remembered always!

Dear Linda & Larry, We were shocked and saddened to read about your mother, Linda. She was such a warm and gracious lady and truly a joy to know. Loved being with her at those craft fairs and that fantastic country-western party at her house. She was so much fun and seemed indestructible. We extend our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to you and all your family. Love, Marcia & Gary
