NEWARK: A mausoleum service for Ray L. Wagers, 76, of Newark will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Newark Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tom Pound officiating.

Mr. Wagers passed away on March 4, 2013 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 3, 1936 to the late Carl and Helen (Arnold) Wagers in Newark, OH.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Ann (Feaster) Wagers; daughters, Wendy Wagers, Stephanie Wagers both of Florida and Kim (James) Clary of Buckeye Lake; son, Todd (Jerri) Thompson of Heath; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Eric V. Walldeck and Carl Wagers Jr.; sisters, Betty Crowly and Virginia Hartman; and grandson, Andy Hartfield.

Mr. Wagers was in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from July 1, 1955 to 1967. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, dancing and telling jokes. He loved to talk and entertain everyone he met. He was a self-employed painter and dry wall finisher. He attended Spring Hills Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH.
