Peter John Rehner Obituary
Peter John Rehner

Newark: Peter John Rehner, age 61, of Newark, passed away on October 11, 2017 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Calling hours will be held at Family of Faith Community Church, 975 Mount Vernon Road, Newark, Ohio, on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 from 10 am to 12 noon, with a service immediately following at 12 noon. Graveside services will take place after the church service on Saturday at Wilson Cemetery, Newark, Ohio.

Peter was born on July 26, 1956 alongside the banks of the Detroit River in the industrial city of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Michael Rehner (deceased) and Erika M. (Hupp) Rehner, husband of Marlene G. (Weber) Rehner (deceased), beloved father of Nina E. Rehner, brother of Ralph (Carol) Rehner and Heidi (Jack Randy) Trace, uncle of Steven (Jolie) Rehner, Gary (Sarah) Rehner, Holly (Mark) Moster, Julie Trace, Zachary Lors, Nathan Lors, and Hannah Lors, great-uncle of Justin Rehner, Gabriella Rehner, Libby Rehner, and Arya Moster. He is the son-in-law of Martin Weber and Erika Weber (deceased), and the brother-in-law of Connie Weber, Ramona (David) Lors, Dean Weber, and David Weber. Peter is also "Opa" to Skyler May, and a mentor to Christopher Page, Matt Palmer, Paul Christian, Tessa Beck, and many others.

Peter earned college degrees in Forestry & Wood Products and Biblical Studies. For the majority of his adult life, he served as a Pastor at Dayspring Christian Community Church, dedicating his life to church planting, pastors, youth ministry, and most recently worked with youth, young adults, and adults at Family of Faith Community Church. Peter has also worked as an Assistant Manager for Moore's Building Supplies, as a Manager for the Smith Dairy Company, and as a Claims Adjuster for State Farm Insurance.

Peter lived to demonstrate the radical love of the Heavenly Father that transforms people's lives. We are deeply moved to celebrate the life of Peter, whose main goal was to stitch together broken hearts and help people find their identity in Christ.
