Tamura S. "Tammy" Miller

Newark - A funeral service for Tamura S. "Tammy" (Carpenter) Miller, age 58, will be held on Monday, August 13 at 10:30 a.m. at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Rd. Heath with Pastor Tom Pound officiating.

Tammy passed away after a hard-fought battle of cancer on August 4, 2018 at Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). She was born on July 26, 1960 in Newark, Ohio.

Tammy was a graduate from Heath High School. She was a dedicated employee for the Ohio State Patrol dispatch and City of Heath Police Department Dispatch for several years. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed traveling to the beach to endure the warm weather. Tammy loves animals as well.

She adored her family and cherished the amazing memories they shared together. Tammy was a strong and loving woman who fought through the hard trials she faced with positivity and determination. She was very blessed to be supported on her journey by the city of Heath, in addition to her friends and family. Even in illness, her concern for everyone else's well-being was always on her mind.

She is survived by her son, Austen J. Miller; mother, Mary Ellen (Doney) Hampton; brother, Charles E. Carpenter II; two sisters, Deborah (Butch) Rebel, and Kimberly Munson; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 12 at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral Home & Cremation Service

The family asks that you spend time with your family, take a walk with your loved ones and make a toast to friendships. That's what Tammy would wish.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tammy's name to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, Post Office Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058.

The family wants to thank "Tammy's Troopers" for their unwavering support during her courageous fight.
