NEWARK: A funeral service commemorating the homecoming of Larry R. Hogue, 81, of Newark, will be held at 11AM, Monday, March 12, 2012, at Spring Hills Baptist Church in Granville with Pastors Gary Kirkpatrick, Tom Pound and Paul Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newark.

Mr. Hogue went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by his loving family Wednesday afternoon, March 7, 2012, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born September 29, 1930, in Lewisville, Ohio, a son of the late Leland and Mary (Cline) Hogue. Mr. Hogue was a 1950 graduate of Newark High School and served our country in the US Army tank division in Korea. He had retired from Newark City Schools where he had served as a custodian at John Clem Elementary School for many years. Following his retirement, he had served as a driver with the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

A devout Christian, Larry loved the Lord, serving Him at the First Christian Union Church and presently at Spring Hill Baptist Church. His family was his life and he enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren, especially during vacations and holiday gatherings. He loved being among people and was loved and respected by everyone that knew him.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Margaret (Corder) Hogue, whom he married May 21, 1952; his children, Melanie (Gary) Warthen, Michael (Linda) Hogue, Dennis (Cindy) Hogue, Pamela (Dale) Koski, Larry (Debbie) Hogue; his grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Chapin, Todd (Karen) Hogue, Angela (Andrew, Jr.) Dorans, Stephanie (Robert) Russ, Nicholas Koski, Jennifer Koski, Olivia Hogue, Abigail Hogue, Isabel Hogue, Luke Hogue, his great-grandchildren, Jaylen Chapin, Kaidra Chapin Andre Dorans, Allie Dorans, Macy Hogue, Creyden Russ, Ava Chapin, Callie Hogue; brothers and sister, Robert (Mary) Hogue , Keith (Darlene) Hogue, Diane (George) Johnson of Lancaster and a special nephew Danny Anderson of St. Louisville and many more nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Makayla Hogue and a sister, Rosena Anderson.

Friends and family may call from 2PM-6PM Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street and one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church or to the Maple Avenue Christian Union Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
