Frank Albertini, of New Bern, NC, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the age of 81.
Frank was born to parents, John and Josephine Albertini, both 1st generation Italian immigrants, on June 4, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA. He served in the United States Navy, during the Korean War years, as a weather forecaster. Frank graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Physics and received a M.S. in Applied Statistics from Villanova University. He was an accomplished, corporate executive with American Express and Boeing.
Frank and Gayle made New Bern their home in 2000 and Frank served as the general contractor in building their home. He was active in the community, and lived life to the fullest with many friends, through Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club, Flying Bears Aviation Club, Fairfield Harbour Gun and Trap Club, and the Harbour Country Dancers. He was a licensed pilot, avid boater and member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He loved music and enjoyed playing his grand piano.
Frank is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gayle Albertini; children, Frank Daniel Albertini (Francine), Bonnie Albertini Wallace (Scott), April Breeze Savage (Steve), and Marc Jackson Hill; and grandchildren, Trey, Angela, William, Frankie, Christian, Lillian, Joshua, Parker, Savannah, Chase, and Keegan. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Josephine, and his brother, John.
Frank's celebration of life service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 12 at 3pm at Centenary United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Reverend Susan Pate Greenwood will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for an aviation scholarship fund to help young people reach their aviation goals. Please send donations to EAA Chapter 1171 with a memo "Frank Albertini Scholarship Donation" mailed to Treasurer, EAA Chapter 1171, 209 Teakwood Drive, New Bern NC 28562.
