TRENT WOODS - Mrs. Iva Lancaster West, 87, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 at her home. A native of Wayne County, Iva was the daughter of Elma Pate and Mack Lancaster, she was a seamstress for most of her life, a faithful member of Centenary United Methodist Church and loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jasper Irwin West; sister, Pauline Davis; and brothers, Ervin, Clinton, and Wiley Lancaster.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Pollock-Best Chapel with the Rev. Bryan S. Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service and other times at the home of her son, Dennis West.
Mrs. West is survived by her sons, John West and wife, Vickie, of Knightdale, NC, Dennis I. West and wife, Becky, of Trent Woods, NC; sisters, Evelyn Lancaster and Hilda L. Peele of Pikeville, NC; brother, Mack Lancaster Jr. of Pikeville, NC; grandchildren, Kristy Guyer, John West Jr., and Brooke West. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Caroline West and Adler Guyer.
