Bennie and I attended and graduated from Winthrop the same time. He and I were in many of the same classes. He was a wonderful person and a great guy. I have not seen Bennie in the years since we graduated, but I have followed his accomplishments. What a true inspiration he has been to so many young people over the years of his career. He will be missed by many and I am truly sorry for the young people who will not get to know his giving spirit and love. RIP Bennie. I know you are coaching and leading in Heaven!!!

I remember seeing Bennie when he was playing basketball with my brother at Newberry college. He was a shy, tall lanky looking guy that could really shot that "pill!" I had heard that he had become the Superintendent of Newberry County Schools and I thought how wonderful, I actually ran into him again in Charlotte a few years back and how poised and professional he was! I was so sorry to hear of his death and want to say what a loss of a wonderful caring man that touched so many hearts in Newberry County and state wide! May God keep you (his family)in perfect peace until you again meet!

On this day it is very hard to find words to say to even attempt to mend a broken heart as Frankie, Brittany, and Kelly mus be suffering from! What a wonderful man Bennie was! I am blessed to have had the opportunity to spend many days at Clover Middle with him, and to learn beside him, with the best. To watch him grow from a principal, and then move into his next position at our District Office was an honor. I am glad to have been a part of it! It was a blessing to grow and learn from him, one of the best! THANKS for sharing your life, your family, and the memories! May God bless each and every member of your family! I love you all!

Bennie was a great friend. There was nothing I looked forward to more than playing with Bennie and Kelly Jr. after school every day after school. We raced, played basketball, played football, and baseball. When he moved away, we got out of touch. I'll talk to him again in the presence of our Lord.
