Krzysztof Czyzewski, of New Britain, joined his Heavenly Father peacefully on Wednesday, April 21 at home with his wife, children, and grandchildren by his side.
Krzysztof was born in Zawady, Poland on May 15, 1935 to the late Adolf and Anna Czyzewska (Maleszewska). He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was always there for others and ready to help. Krzysztof received his Agriculture Degree in Cieszyn, Poland.
Krzysztof enlisted in the Polish Military and was a draftsman who designed topographical maps for the Air Force. After his military service, he returned back home to Zawady and worked as an agronomist. He became a fireman in a local volunteer Fire Department, and a committee member who helped with building a Regional Fire Station in Zawady.
He was the President of The Parent Committee in a school for many years. He was artistic and had very fine penmanship. Krzysztof spearheaded a theater for his community where he designed and painted backdrops and props for performances.
Krzysztof lived in the U.S. for 46 years and was a proud U.S. citizen. Initially he was employed as a machinist at Excello and Atlantic Machine. Then he started his own remodeling - construction business until he retired. He was a gifted man, an entrepreneur, creator with many talents.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain and an active member of Veterans of Haller Post in New Britain. He also belonged to the Polish American Congress District of CT.
Krzysztof enjoyed going back to visit his home in a small village Zawady. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family, relatives, and friends.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Tereska of 61 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Krzysztof is survived by his children, Anna Czyzewska Reynolds of Wallingford; Ewa Parzych and husband Zdzislaw of Burlington; Andrzej Czyzewski and wife Grazyna of Berlin.
Krzysztof is survived by his eight beloved grandchildren: Alicia Reynolds of Washington, D.C.; Daniel Reynolds of Wallingford; Krystina Reynolds of Wallingford; Adam Jankowski and wife Anna of Southington; Anna Jankowski and boyfriend Damian Zielinski of Plainville; Dominik Jankowski and fiancée Jessica of Burlington; Monika Duda and husband Tomasz of Wethersfield; Aneta Czyzewski and fiancé Mike of Berlin; his great-grandchildren: Liliana Duda, Krystofer Zielinski, Sabina Duda , and many God-Children.
Krzysztof is also survived by his sister, Maria Rozanska of Ketrzyn, Poland; sister in law Marianna Czyzewski of Maspeth, N.Y.; sister in law Aniela Targonska and husband Stanislaw of New Britain, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, distant family, friends, and relatives in the U.S. and in Poland.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Helena Kasiak and Zofia Klosek; brother Stanislaw Czyzewski, son-in-law, Paul Reynolds, and his great-granddaughter little Angel Amelia Duda.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 9 a.m. from the New Britain Memorial Funeral Home, Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Members of the General Haller Post and Ladies Auxiliary will meet at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 6 p.m.
