Robert "Bob" C. Hinckley a lifelong New Preston, CT, resident died Wednesday September 6, 2017 at Village Crest in New Milford, CT after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 81.
He was born November 15, 1935 in New Preston son of the late Horace and Gertrude (Benjamin) Hinckley. He graduated from Washington High School in 1954. On August 24, 1957 he married Elizabeth (Betty) Anderson in the stone church in New Preston. Bob worked for the State of CT, D.O.T. for 37 years retiring in 1990. He was a life member of the Washington Fire Dept., he was a NY Yankee fan for over 70 years and a Huskie's boys and girls basketball team fan and loved going to Shepaug baseball games. Bob also loved having his great-grandchildren over watching them play and run around. He will be sadly missed by all.
Bob leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Betty of New Preston, CT; sons Steven R. Hinckley and his wife Barbara of Shelton, CT and Todd B. Hinckley of Thomaston, CT; granddaughter Nicole Hinckley and her fiancé Ravi Murthy of Somerville, MA; grandson Michael and his wife Marisa Hinckley of Watertown, CT; brother Keith and his wife Ellen Hinckley of Thomaston, CT and his great-grandchildren Mason, Ava, Aiden, Jackson and Avinash and many in-laws, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday September 10, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford, CT. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday Sept. 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
