Alberta M. "Bertie" (Sheller) Noda Obituary
Alberta "Bertie" M. (Sheller) Noda, 87, of Timberlake, went "home with Jesus" Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Governors Village Assisted Living in Mayfield Village.
She was born April 4, 1931 in Cleveland. Alberta graduated from Euclid Central High School in 1949. She loved her family and friends with all her heart.
Her employment over the years included Real Estate, the College Club of Cleveland, and her favorite was being a greeter at Kmart in her hometown, where she got to see many people she knew and loved.
She enjoyed spending time at her home she had built in Timberlake, being involved in politics, talk radio, and also seeing "live" music. She knew hundreds of songs, and enjoyed singing harmony with her family. Also, she was a huge Cleveland Indians fan and best of all, Alberta loved the Lord with her whole heart.
She was a loving mother to her son, Bryan Noda; daughters, Darlene (Ernie) Phillips, and Denise Verdi; grandmother to, Ernie (Jodi) Phillips Jr, Daniel (Sarah) Phillips, Rob (Mariana) Verdi, Jason (Lora) Verdi, Stephen Noda, and Madison Noda; and great-grandmother to, Ernie III, Jack, Dylan, and Anna Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her loving sons, Jerry and Jeff Noda; her parents, Andrew and Albina Sheller; her identical twin sister, Albina Egensperger; and her former husband, Gerald A. Noda.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
A funeral service to conclude the gathering will be held 6 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike McCandless of Church on the North Coast of Wickliffe officiating.
The family suggests contributions in Alberta's name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192, or donate online at: www.hospicewr.org.
