Bethel Kay Hooven, age 78 of Oxford, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hospice in Hamilton.
She was born in Cleveland on September 6, 1938 to Robert and Bethel (Dean) Lemmerman.
Bethel Kay was a 1956 graduate of Willoughby Union High School, raised in Lakeline.
She attended Miami University and received a cadet certificate, college degree and a masters degree in elementary education. She taught in the Willoughby Eastlake District for 2 years. She married Bill Hooven and moved to Oxford. She continued her career teaching 4 years at Fairfield Central and 28 years at College Corners. She and her husband operated Hooven's Nursery for 40 years before retiring.
Bethel Kay is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill; her daughters, Bethel Ann of Cincinnati and Elizabeth of Oxford; sister Sally (Lemmerman) Orloff of Painesville; and brother John Lemmerman of Buda, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Bethel (Dean) Lemmerman; and sister Roberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Animal Friends Humane Society, 1820 Princeton Rd., Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Along with her husband Bill, Bethel introduced us to some wonderful plants that we still grow in our yard. Like Bill, she ws always helpful and kind. We will miss her.
