Bruce J. Haynes, 80, went home to the Lord on October 10, 2017.
Bruce was the beloved husband of Linda (nee Miczak/Lessner); loving father of Daniel, Barbara (Jeff), Bruce Jr. (Robin) and Bonnie; loving step-father of Lori Lessner; uncle and great uncle; grandfather of many, especially Matthew and Kristen; and great grandfather of many.
He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly; his father John; and his sister, Jennifer Gorman.
Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Twp.
Bruce was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He was also a member of the VFW, Post 3863. He worked at the Cleveland Clinic as accounts payable manager and after retirement, was a volunteer at the Clinic from 2000 to 2014. Bruce was an active member of the Body of Christ Community Church and was the financial administrator for the church for ten years. He also volunteered at McKinley Outreach Center.
Bruce enjoyed watching all the Cleveland sports teams, Browns, Indians and Cavaliers, but his favorite team was the Lake County Captains. He loved attending Captains games and he did so since they first came to Eastlake in 2003. Bruce loved going on vacation and his favorite places to visit were Branson, MO and Disney World. He also loved his special animal friend, Daisy Mae Sandrey.
Family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Bruce's memory to Body of Christ Community Church, 38057 Erie Road, Willoughby, OH, 44094, or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH, 44110.
Family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Body of Christ Community Church, 38057 Erie Rd., Willoughby.
