Elfrieda Ungers Gavin Obituary
Elfrieda Ungers Gavin, age 87, of Madison, met her eternal Lord and Savior on Monday, March 5, 2018.
Born on August 31, 1930 to Robert Lutzweiler and Augusta (Seeger) in Cleveland.
Elfrieda's life was a living example of grace, beauty and love for her family.
She is survived by her five children, Bob (Vickie) Ungers of Madison; Barb (Bill) Brotzman of Conneaut; Dave Ungers of Perry; Sandy (Dan) Choma of Madison; and Mary (Jeff) Joughin of Thompson; step-sons, Bill (Jana) Gavin of Columbus; and Pat (Tammy) Gavin of Mentor. Elfrieda's grandchildren whom she loved and touched deeply remember her fondly as Grandma Al and the many memories made at her house to be handed down like a tale from a children's story book are Tami Dyer, Kari Christie, Monica Gelfand, Daniel Ungers, David Ungers, Timothy Ungers, Hayley Ungers,
Julie Choma, Paul Choma, Katie Choma, Kristina Millonzi, Stephanie James, Brianna Gavin, Connor Gavin, Katelyn Gavin, Alan Brotzman, Julianna Brotzman and Trevor Brotzman. Elfrieda's great grandchildren who gave her much warmth and joy as her family continues to grow are Lana, Kylie, Graci, Kaylee, Jenna, Chase, Ayla, Addy, Kayden, Chameleon, Arabella, Amelia, Max, Ellie, Jase and Zoey.
Preceded in death by first husband Paul J. Ungers (1981); her second husband Russell W. Gavin (2009); and daughter-in-law Debi Ungers (2012); and step-son Rick Gavin (2014).
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8th at Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9th at the Potti Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Madison Memorial Cemetery.
