MARCIA NADINE HIGGS

Marcia Nadine Higgs, 95, of Ormond Beach, entered into rest February 14, 2013. She was born in San Diego, California, July 5, 1917. While Marcia was born in the United States, she spoke fluent Spanish, learned from her South American upbringing. Mrs. Higgs lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santiago, Chile; Florida, Washington D.C. and many other parts of the world. She loved to ride horses and was an avid traveler, always in the quest of knowledge. Marcia was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Randolph Higgs, her sister, Mary Annette Lindgren Shaw, and her nephews and niece, Keith and Kenneth Shaw and Karen Shaw Gajdos. A short viewing will be held Tuesday from 10:00 a.m until 10:30 a.m. at Haigh-Black Funeral Home, 167 Vining Court, Ormond Beach. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brendan Catholic Church. Following the Mass the family will receive guests for a reception at the church. Interment will take place on March 2nd in Shannon Cemetery in Lee County Mississippi.
