John Pitera Obituary
Edgewater - John Jacob Pitera, dearly beloved son of Beverly and John Pitera, Sr., and brother of Peter Pitera, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 22, 2020 in Edgewater. John was born in Plainedge, Long Island, NY. He lived his childhood on Long Island and early school years in Mendham, NJ before moving to Houston, TX in 1978. John graduated from Memorial High School in Houston and attended the University of Texas, Austin, majoring in Finance. John moved to Sydney, Australia and attended the University of New South Wales, majoring in Finance. John had extensive financial business experience including positions at Citibank, Sydney, Australia, Chief Market Technician; Chase Manhattan, New York, NY, Senior Management Proprietary Foreign Exchange Trader; GZ Fund Ltd., The Woodlands, TX, Managing General Partner; Morgan Stanley, Ormond Beach, Financial Advisor; Global Financial Analysis, The Woodlands, TX, Senior Global Macro Consultant. He was followed extensively in his financial analysis writings on Silicon Investor for over 20 years and more recently on Linkedin. John joins his mother and younger brother for eternity in his next life with our Lord. He is survived by his father, John Pitera, Sr., Edgewater; his uncle, Robert Madden, New Albany, IN and the Madden family cousins, Marcia, Mark, Sean, Laurie, Jake and Carly. John was active for many years in the Houston Central Men's Bible Study Fellowship and the Sacred Heart Bible Study program in New Smyrna Beach, both of which gave him great joy. John was an avid sports participant in baseball, football, rugby, swimming and golf. He also greatly enjoyed playing guitar, attending music concerts, sports events, opera and the movies. John's family and friends celebrate his many joyous traits, including his consideration and attentiveness to others, perceptive, honest, kind and generous. The love he shared will endure. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be 2PM Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach
