Armond "Gramps" Barracano

Armond (Gramps) Barracano, 92, South Daytona, passed away on July 19, 2008 with family by his side. Armond was born in Ozone Park, N.Y. He retired from Fairchild Industries in Farmingdale, N.Y. and made his home here in South Daytona, FL in 1980. His family was his life, but he also touched the lives of many other people. He was predeceased by his wife, Maria, of 59 years. He is survived by his only daughter, Gilda Dowgiallo and her boyfriend, Bill Howell; four grandchildren, Maria Braithwaite-Kwiatkowski, Sandra West, Vicki Dowgiallo and Jimmy Dowgiallo; 14 great-grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Nathaniel, Amber, Sierra, Jacob, Chandler, Alexis, Dakota, Vincent, Damian, Samantha, Nicholas, Timothy, and hundreds of others who called him Grandpa. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Port Orange Hospice Chapel located at 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately after at the VFW Post 1590, located at 1013 Veterans Court, Daytona Beach, FL (behind Taco Bell at Nova and Mason).
