Retired Master Sergeant Bobby Lee Booth, age 77, of Walker Street, Holly Hill, passed away peacefully at home on January 12th. A native of Homestead, FL, Sergeant Booth moved to this area, in 1975. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He also served as the federal test administrator (ASVAB) for the armed forces for 27 years. He was known to all the recruits as "Mr. Bobby", His memberships included the VFW, American Legion, DAV, AMVETS, Elks, Eagles, and Moose. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, traveling and socializing with friends.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 17 years Bina Rae; a son, Afton (Jill) Booth of Peoria. IL; stepchildren Shawn Geelen and Stephanie Geelen of Salisbury, NC; six (6) grandchildren, four (4) great-grandchildren; a brother Billy Booth of Wilmington, IL; and many other family members. A memorial service will be held, at the American Legion Post 120 (Walker Street, Holly Hill) today (January 20th) at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Honor Guard at either VFW Post 1590 (Daytona Beach) or Legion Post 120 (Holly Hill).
