DeBary, FL age 85 was born June 13, 1932 in Vevay, IN and was called home January 30, 2018. He served our country from August 4, 1949 to September 20, 1952, leaving the Army as a Corporal. During this time, he fought in the Korean War from July 1, 1950 to July 15, 1951. He married Emmy in 1964. He then moved to Florida in 1977 (2 years after Emmy passed away). It was in 1996 that he decided to retire from his life long career of being a truck driver. In 1998, he married Marian Rakow. Charles is predeceased by his parents Hosea Brooks and Lula Wiseman, sisters Virginia DeMaree and Louise McCool and wife Marian Rakow. He is survived by his sister Velma Butler and stepson Larry Harper. He was an active member of the American Legion. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and traveling. It is Charles' request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmaus Lutheran Church of Orange City, FL. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday February 7, 2018 10 am to 12 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home where funeral service will follow at 12 pm. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Deltona Memorial Gardens, Orange City, FL.
