Although my family and I now live in Oregon, we did live in Port Orange for many years and met Don while looking for a car. He was not the "typical" salesman. We considered him a dear friend. I just discovered the News Journal stories on his horrific death.

Our sincere sympathy to all those he left behind. My God Bless you all.

I periodically go into the East Liverpool Review Obits to see who I know from when I lived in Ohio that passed away.I was sad to see your name there Donny.Though I hadn't seen you in years you were my cousin.I pray your family makes it thru this sad time.I am reminded of the scripture,"when I am absent from my body,I am present with Jesus."Very sad news.

I was devastated when my mom just told me the news of Don's passing. Don sold me my first car in 2010 as well as my mother's previous 2 vehicles. He was so nice and always made our experience very pleasant. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Don,
You know how much my family and I loved you.... We are still in shock that you were taken from our family in such a horrific way. All I keep thinking about are all the times when you would introduce me to people at Jon Hall as your sister in law... I felt so proud. You never stopped loving the family even after the divorce. You were kind and helpful and you had a heart of gold.... I know that you used to feed the homeless on occasion- and you always gave money to the homeless guy outside of the Kangaroo station every morning. THAT is the kind of guy YOU were! I know we will meet again my brother.... Hug all of the family for me, and know that you are missed so much by soooo many.
Until we meet again.
Love you,
Tracie, Anthony, and Garth Phifer

Words can not express how wonderful this man truly was. His heart was always so true and warm and I don't think that he ever met a person that he was not kind to. I worked with Don for 3 years and I never saw him with out a smile on his face. I am so sorry for having lost such a wonderful person and such a wonderful friend. My heart goes out to the family for an even bigger loss. May the most greatest of memories live and last long in our hearts and minds.

Everyone is still in shock on how this wonderful man was taken. Everyone who knew Don realized what a great man he was. Don would do anything for anyone and treated every person with kindness. To steal a line from my friend Don Clark; Don Clark on a scale of one to ten, Don is a twelve! To the Clark family I am truly sorry for your loss!

There are no words for this senseless act to a wonderful, gentle, kind man. We bought our first Honda from Don and five more after that from him. We wouldn't hear of having another salesman help us because with Don, he made you feel like family and it became personal. I am keeping your family in my prayers Don, and ask God to hold them close to Him during this difficult time. You will be missed. Tony & Fran Moccia

Still in shock. Don always treated me like one of his own. He was a great man and I pray for justice every night. My heart is broken knowing that we lost such an amazing person, but God has gained one of the greatest angels! Don has touched the lives of so many. If he didn't know it before I'm sure he knows it now. My prayers are with his family.

I am sorry for the family and friends and pray God's peace and comfort to you. Don sold me three Honda's since early 1990's. He was the nicest person, never forgot the first new Civic he sold me cause of the wheeling & dealing we made him go through (I won, LOL). Until we meet again...

I knew you way back when..early 90's. You were so nice to me and to my son in trying to help him find a car after we moved here from Washington. I regret that we didn't keep more in contact over the years but did see you every now and then. What a tragedy for this to happen to you just as you've retired. My heart hurts for your family....RIP Don Clark and remember the A.O.L girl :-)

Papa, I still cannot believe what has happened and despite all the sadness I feel, I can say everyday I grow happier knowing that you are in a much better place. I am happy for you and I want you to know that we will all be just fine down here so don't you worry. I know you are living the life up there in Heaven and one day we will all get to live the life together. I promise to take care of mom for you and not a moment will go by where you are not in our hearts and those hearts you have touched of others. I love you and we will all miss you but you are not far, you're right here in all of our hearts.
Love you Papa,
with all my heart, Kaysie xoxo

Not only did I hire Don at Jon Hall - Don was the godfather of my twins, now 25 years old. Don was a man of few words but his actions spoke the magnitude of his heart. I loved you Don. Remember that it is not what you say to a person but how you act towards that person that gives you memories. I am full of those memories, Thank you for being a true friend... Till we meet again...
