Dorothy Schoenfeld Saeger (1925 - 2018)

Dorothy Schoenfeld Saeger, formerly of Chenango Bridge, New York, currently of Port Orange, FL, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2018 at Mercy House in Endicott, NY. She was the wife of Herbert E. Saeger for 54 years until his death on July 28, 2000; she was also predeceased by her fiancé Edward Poteran, who died in September 2012. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of Ernest and Louella (Larash) Schoenfeld. Dorothy was a legal secretary in the offices of Coughlin & Gerhart Binghamton, NY for 15 years, and was Executive Secretary to the CEO at Binghamton Savings Bank for 10 years before retiring in 1990. Dorothy lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed skiing, tennis, and traveling. She loved dining out with her close circle of friends and sharing stories of the adventures of her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She is survived by her Sons Christopher E. Saeger and wife Becky of Roanoke, VA; Craig C. Saeger and wife Amy of Chenango Bridge, NY; Her Grandsons: Ernest Saeger, Eric Saeger and Erin Saeger. Granddaughters: Olivia Saeger Herron and Emily Saeger and a great granddaughter, Freya Herron. There will be a private burial with memorial service to be sheduled in the spring. The family wishes to thank Fr. Clarence Rumble, Amy Roma, and the entire staff of Mercy House for the love, care and compassion that was shown.
