Edward James Bacon

Post Everlasting Service for Edward James Bacon, 73, Ormond Beach, who died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at home in Ormond, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 26, at American Legion Post 120, Holly Hill. Mr. Bacon was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and moved to this area in 1982 from his birthplace. He served in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Ormond Beach Eagles, lifetime member of the VFW 1590 in Daytona Beach, and 25-year member of the American Legion Post 120, Holly Hill, where he served many positions. He was the owner/operator of Ed's Diner from 1982-1988 and retired from Badcock Furniture after 19 years in 2006. Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Beverly Bacon, in 2001. Survivors include his brother, Bob Bacon, Lady Lake, Fla.; three sisters, Marion Molinaro, Tucson, Ariz., Shirley Ackerman, Red Hook, N.Y., Helen Stephens, Poughkeepsie; son, Jimm Bacon, Holly Hill; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Bacon, Holly Hill; and two grandchildren, Bree and Zakk, Holly Hill.
