PORT ORANGE - Elizabeth "Diddie" Cubbage-Sloat, 87, of Clyde Morris Boulevard, a resident since 1975, died Monday at home. Mrs. Cubbage-Sloat, a homemaker, was born in Westminster, Md., and moved to this area from Maryland. She was an Army WACS veteran of World War II. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary 4089, American Legion Auxiliary 270 and the AMVETS Auxiliary 911, all of Port Orange, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 1590, Daytona Beach. Mrs. Cubbage-Sloat was an honorary DD714 Associate of the USS William R. Rush Association. She enjoyed playing bingo. Survivors include her husband of six years, George; three sons, Garland Cubbage Jr., Richmond, Va., Douglas Cubbage, Wilmington, N.C., and Bunky Cubbage, Taneytown, Md.; three daughters, Alice Kontz, Westminster, Edith Thomas, Taneytown, and Lynda Smith, Oak Creek; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Lane, Port Orange, FL 32129. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.
