Essie Mae Louise Clemons
Essie Mae Louise Clemons, 92, of Daytona Beach, passed away on May 10, 2018. She was born in West Palm Beach, FL. Essie was a retired school teacher with the Charlotte County Schools, Punta Gorda, FL, for 36 years. She graduated from Bethune-Cookman College in 1948. She was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church (Daytona Beach), and served on the Stewardess Board, Women's Missionary Society, Lay Organization, and C.M. Williams Ministry and more. Essie is survived by her son, John Z. Clemons, Jr., of Lithonia, GA, daughter Phyllis Clemons, of Daytona Beach, two grandsons, John Z. Clemons and Carlton L. Robinson, Jr., both of Lithonia, GA, one granddaughter, Scottesha Miller, of Baltimore, MD, and one great grandchild. Service will be held Thursday, May 17 from 5-7 pm at the Mt. Zion AME Church (Wake Service), with Pastor Willie N. Barnes, Jr. officiating. Burial will take place on May 19, at Lt. Carl Bailey Cemetery in Punta Gorda, FL.
