George R. (Bob) Glover

George R. (Bob) Glover, 84, died Thursday August 6, 2009. Mr. Glover was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He retired from the Navy Printing Dept., Orlando, FL before moving to Ormond Beach in 1990. A member of VFW, Post 1590, George was a Navy veteran of World War II who honorably served in the Asiatic Pacific and in two battles in the Philippines. He was awarded the Presidential citation for an active part on a radar ship around Okinawa. His hobbies include woodworking and fishing. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Helen Glover; a daughter, Patricia ( Stuart) Moore of Winter Park, FL; three grandsons, Mark, Michael and Matthew Moore; two great granddaughters ;and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Dodd and Dr. Cullen for all their support and assistance. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 8, at 1:00 P.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, The family will receive friends today (Friday) at 2-4 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach. Friends are invited to say the rosary at the funeral home Friday at 1:45 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to FL Hospital Oceanside Hospice, 770 W. Granada Ave., Suite 304, Ormond Beach , FL 32174. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach.
