Gladys McKeehan died at age 92 after a recent stroke and suffering from Alzheimer's diagnosed last year. At her passing, she was surrounded by family at her South Daytona home of 55 years. She is survived by her husband John, just three weeks short of 70 years of marriage, and predeceased by her first born daughter Karen McKeehan who died of a brain aneurysm in 1968 at age 18. Survived also by daughter Kathy Durrance (Dennis), son Walter McKeehan (Debbie), grandchildren Taylor Durrance (Vanessa), Christopher Durrance (Kelli), Lacey Durrance and three great-grandchildren, Layla, Emily & Hunter. Born in Soctia, NY, Gladys graduated from Ryder College in 1945 with a degree in secretarial science. She met her husband at Carrier Corp. in Syracuse, NY. She came to Florida from Syracuse in 1963 when her husband was transferred with General Electric as part of the Apollo space program. Gladys was one of Jehovah's Witnesses with great dedication and enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing the piano & being a homemaker. The wonderful hospitality everyone enjoyed when visiting in her home will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations perhaps be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
