Joe William Love, 80, native of Macclenny, resident of Orange Park, transitioned on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. The son of Everlean Pressley and John Wesley Love, he was a graduate of Dunbar High School, Green Cove Springs. "Love" earned a B.S. degree in Physical Ed/Health at Bethune-Cookman College and completed graduate level courses in Education Administration and Supervision at the UNF. Over the course of his career, he was a Clay County Educator, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals Rep; City Police Officer; VP., Bank of Green Cove Springs; Housing and Community Developer; Green Cove Springs Mayor, Executive Director, and Small business owner. Joe was a sports enthusiast, outdoorsman, who enjoyed socializing with retirees. He was a member of the Wesconett Baptist Church, Jax. Cherished memories: sons and daughter, Byron William Love, Jax; Carol (Rev. Edwin) Love Coffie, Palm Coast; Bryan (Shateena) William Love, Atlanta, GA; 4 grandchildren; sister, Mercy Dee Solomon, Jax; other relatives and friends. Visitation: 11 a.m.-12 Noon, Saturday, May 19, with Homegoing Celebration: 12 noon, at St. James A.M.E. Church, 1324 Kingsley Ave., Orange Park, Rev. Dr. Melvin A. Kennerly, is the eulogist.
