Loyd Charles Bembry

Loyd Charles Bembry "Bo", 90, of Bunnell, FL, passed away peacefully at his home June 16th, 2018. He was born in Lockhart, FL on May 4, 1928 to Alice and Rufus Bembry. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Prairie from 1948 – 1952. Loyd moved to Bunnell in 1960. He retired from Florida Power & Light after 38 years of service. Anyone who had the pleasure to know Loyd quickly learned he was a well-respected, generous, honest, hardworking man who loved spending time with his family and friends. Loyd accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and is now spending eternity in heaven. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Melba (Tucker), three brothers: Loren Bembry, Drew Bembry and Bill Bembry (Clara); his son, Charles Bembry (Barbie), and his daughter Dammie Bembry. He was a proud "Pap" to, Karsyn Hale (Nathan), Cheyanne Manzione (Matthew), Dakotah Marshall, and his great grandchildren, Weston and Kyson. He was predeceased by five brothers, JT, Rufus, Carl, Leslie and Johnny; and two sisters, Isola and Alice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30th at the First Baptist Church of Bunnell at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Baptist Church food pantry in honor of Loyd.
